Blue Card rules and regulations

It has been well advertised and promoted that all coaches that wish to attend Boxing Qld events in an active roll by cornering their athletes must have a blue card, the card must be linked to Boxing Qld and you must have that card on you.
No Card, No Start laws
The ‘No Card, No Start’ law means all people providing regulated services to children must have a blue card before they start their child-related work.
All coaches & 2nd's that are physically inside the field of play cornering their boxers must have a blue card which you now do online through the online application process, this card must also be linked to boxing qld! If your card is not linked it is the same as not having one.
This law is state wide and emcompasses all organisations that deal with kids. NO it doesn't make any difference if you only train adults, our tournaments include all ages 10yrs+.
To link your blue card to Boxing Qld, send your Blue card number and DOB to secretary@boxingqueensland.com
When you are applying for a new blue card, you do so online (see link above), you do not get it throught BQ anymore. You will need to however link your application to BQ by sending your Blue card AC# with your DOB to secretary@boxingqueensland.com
If any of the above is not followed you do not have a valid blue card and you are not permitted to corner boxers until this is followed and you have your blue card.
Please keep in mind that getting a new card does take a number of weeks (up to 5) so don't attempt to apply for a card on Monday and expect to have it by Friday.
Moving forward we will be randomly checking that all coaches have their blue cards on them at each and every tournament, again if you do not have your card on you, you will not be able to corner your athlete.
