Boxers on the move

Coaches Benny Harrington and Alex (Chook) Lawson have taken a team to New Zealand to box at the 'Young Guns Boxing Tournament' on the 12th & 13th of march at the Te Rapa Racecourse in Hamilton while Mark Evans and Victoria's Bradley Patullo have taken a team of our best youth boxers from Queensland and Victoria to compete at a Russian invitational tournament in Anapa. An amazing experience for these young boxers who have all taken advantage of the new user-pay options available for international trips.

Our Queensland Elite Women's Team left for Perth today to attend the Women's World Selection Trials in Perth.Only athletes who had competed at the recent Australian Titles were eligible and a win here puts our boxers within striking distance of a world title. The World Championships are to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan May 19-27, 2016. Our entrants in the selection trials are Schinead Johnston, Tiarna Collins, Emma Carruthers, Skye Nicolson and Desley Robinson. Good luck to our girls and their coaches Wayne Tolton, Chris Carden and Khuram Nasir.
