COVID-19 Impact on Boxing Tournaments

Published Sun 15 Mar 2020

Boxing Queensland have come to the difficult decision to cancel all boxing tournaments from now until the end of May. This decision has not been taken lightly and is based on the expert medical advise of the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee, endorsed by Commonwealth, State and Territory governments, that organised public gatherings of more than 500 people and sporting events be cancelled to reduce transmission of COVID-19 in Australia.

The health of our boxing community and our friends, family and the wider community is paramount and we accept that this will have an impact on our tournaments in the short term.
