COVID 19 Restrictions Easing
Published Sat 23 May 2020
Hi All,
On Wednesday night the committee held a meeting to discuss our pathway out of the current COVID 19 restrictions.
As you are all aware there are currently 3 stages.
Stage 1- does not include any form of contact or indoor activity. Outdoor activity is permitted for groups of 10 max maintaining the 1.5mtr distancing rule
Stage 2 - Includes indoor training with no contact for up to a max of 20 people, the 20 includes everyone (coaches, parents and boxers). The distancing rule is still in effect which is 1.5mtrs or 4sq mtrs per person.
How big is your gym/facility?
Will you fit 20 people in, within the guidelines?
You must adopt a strict hygene policy which includes no sharing of equipment, hand sanitizer, washing of hands etc (make sure as a gym or club owner you are aware of this).
Stage 3 - Distancing regulations are still in effect, however contact is permitted, you can recommence sparring & padwork in stage 3, again if parents spectators etc are onsite they must maintain 1.5mtrs. Please be aware of your gym space to limit and regulate your numbers, 1 person per 4sq mtrs.
Stage 3 indoor and outdoor also has restrictions of max 100 people (no spectators) at activities/events which effects BQ and our clubs.
Due to the fact that contact training (sparring, padwork & partner work) does not come back into effect until July 10 we came to the decision that athletes would not be ready to compete for a number of weeks after this.
Having said that we are still discussing our options in regards to re introducing tournaments (if at all) and what they will look like given the restrictions.
We have a number of things to weigh up in our discussions moving forward and we want to make sure we get it right.
At this stage we are considering the 15th August as a possiblity, this date is a guide given how quickly things are being updated & changing.
Once we have a more definitive plan on how and or whether or not tournaments will resume we will endeavour to keep all members and coaches updated through our web page and Facebook page.
Kind Regards
