It's official, Boxing Qld will host the boxing at the 2018 North Qld Games, being held in Mackay over 3 days (May 5, 6 & 7).

After a long application process Boxing Qld received official confirmation earlier this week that they have won the rights to host the boxing event at the 2018 Mackay City Auto Group North Queensland Games.

The North Qld Games is held every 2 years and rotates between Cairns, Townsville & Mackay and is growing every year. 2016 (Cairns) saw approx 2800 athletes compete in approx 28 different sports. Already this year there is a projected 3500 athletes to compete in 30+ sporting events.

This is very exciting for Boxing Qld and a big indication of how much Boxing and Boxing Qld has grown across the state and in particular the North.

The boxing is open to all age groups (including Masters) & experience levels (Novice 0-3, int 4-8, open 9-15 & Exp 15+ bouts). Interstate & international athletes are also welcome. All athletes must be registered with their state Member Association, Boxing Qld, NSW, ACT, VIC, TAS, WA, NT. International athletes must be registered with an AIBA affiliated organisation.

Registration will be online, more information will be released on the registration process in the new year.
