We're Back
The Boxing Qld committee have been working tirelessly over the past few weeks to work out a plan to return to competition.
With the COVID restrictions set to be lifted to stage 3 on the 10th July it enables us to return to competition, although it will be without spectators and a very regulated process, we have worked tirelessly to put a calendar together for the remainder of 2020.
This will only be possible with the full support and cooperation of all members, coaches, clubs, athletes & officials.
Due to the cost involved in running tournaments and not being able to have non essential people (spectators) at events Boxing Qld will be coordinating and hosting the modified calendar.
The calendar online and the events page will be updated in the coming days to reflect what has been scheduled.
Please keep in mind we are not the NRL or AFL, we come under the community sport guidelines along with local, state and federal government rules and regs so that is what will be guiding us forward. Most sports have decided to cancel the remainder of their season so we are among the lucky few to be restarting, Subject to stage 3 coming into effect on the 10th July.

All other tournaments scheduled on the calendar have been cancelled including the Golden Gloves. The state titles are yet to be confirmed and may still happen under a midified program/schedule. Once again we will keep you updated as more information comes to light.
As stated above all nominations must be completed through the events page on the Boxing Qld web page. All events will have a nomination close date and no late nominations will be accepted.
Tournaments will be capped at 40 bouts and bouts will run to time as per the program. weigh in will be 10am-12pm, bouts will start at 2pm
We will not entertain any comments or threats of clubs pulling out if all their athletes or certain athletes don't get matched, it goes without saying that athletes are going to miss out and we will simply not accept any further nominations from your club.
There will be no match ups on the day of the tournaments so if you are not pre matched or your bout falls over you are not required to attend.
In regards to SEQ tournaments we will review these every couple of weeks and the continuation under this format will depend on the availability of apprpriatley qualified officials, so we urge all clubs to send a couple of parents, coaches or spectators (ones that are prepared to show up, lend a hand and are interested) to the R&J seminar so that our R&J pool can be strengthened.
Please read the return to boxing guidelines attached.

In regards to registration fees we have decided to reduce these by 50% as follows for the reaminder of 2020:

We will not be accepting any financial memberships for the remainder of 2020.
