Welcome to 2021
Published Mon 11 Jan 2021
The committee would like to welcome everyone back after a well deserved break and probably a much needed break.
The year so far hasn't started to well with our web site being down, however we've over come that issue and it's back up and operational. We've had to change our domain so our old web address of www.boxingqld.org.au is no longer operational, you can now find us under our new domain at https://www.boxingqueenslandinc.org our site is still the same, it's just been moved.
Annual registration is now open, could all clubs and boxers follow the below process:-
- Affiliate your club
- If you are renewing your affiliation from 2020 your club should appear when asked to select a club, please update and complete any and all information the form asks for. Remember all coaches must have a current blue card linked to Boxing Qld, NO CARD, NO PARTICIPATION
- If you are affiliating a new club please click on Boxing Qld when asked to select a club, you can then fill in your club details when you are taken to the next page, your club will be updated onto the system so please make sure you input the right information. Remember all coaches must have a current blue card linked to Boxing Qld, NO CARD, NO PARTICIPATION
- Registering your boxers;
- Do this after the club is affiliated, Coaches please ensure you know who is regsitering or complete the registration yourself. Remember to put the head coaches email address down as the primary email contact and the boxers as secondary.
- NB: keep the boxers BQ sign on details (username & password) in a handy spot to make tournament nomination easier.
- Head coaches only will be contacted about match ups and athlete information, we will not be discussing anything with the boxers or parents unless necessary. If parents or boxers contact us direct we will redirect them to their coach. Please understand that there are a very large number of clubs, boxers and members and having mutiple people from the same club contact us about the same thing takes up valuable time and is something that can be avoided.
- Put in the correct information and all necessary information, if you leave information out it may cost your athlete a possible match up
- If you are renewing your registration you should not need a new book so please don't tick 'yes'. when it asks if you need a new record book. Your registration is not complete until you completed payment.
- If you are a new registration you will need to tick yes for a record book. Your book will be sent out after you have paid your registration fee. DO NOT ASK WHEN YOU WILL GET YOUR BOOK IF YOU HAVEN'T PAID THE FEE. Please allow 2 weeks after payment to receive your blue book.
- You must have a current medical completed & signed by a Dr, the medical is located in the front of the blue book, pages 2-6. Your medical is valid for 12 months from the date you completed it.
- Boxers 15yrs old and over must complete a serology test for Hep B & C and HIV, this is seperate (in addition) to your medical. A letter from your Dr is not sufficient you need to supply us with a copy of the report which can be downloaded onto your BQ profile. NO SEROLOGY, NO FIGHT.
- Do this after the club is affiliated, Coaches please ensure you know who is regsitering or complete the registration yourself. Remember to put the head coaches email address down as the primary email contact and the boxers as secondary.
If you want to host a tournament this year you need to complete the tournament request form which can be found on the events page, click events at the top of this page.
Before submitting a tournament request be sure to check the calendar (again just click calendar at the top of the page), have a look at your date to see if it's available but also have a look at what events are on around it and take into consideration if they will effect your tournament. Please don't assume that once you submit your form that your date will be accepted, wait until you receive and email or you see your event on the calendar, be sure to submit alternative dates as well.
With COVID still hanging about, we will attempt to keep everyone informed of any new developments or restrictions that may be introduced. We strongly advise that everyone follows all Q Health directives when they are updated. keep checking the Qld Health COVID website for any change as well.
We look forward to getting on with Boxing in 2021, hope to see you all ring side..
